Nose means "nariz"...of course. I did a surgery on 17th February of 2009. The problem was identified one year ago during the Physiological Course in STF, inside a hypobaric chamber. Now, I'm recovering, but it hasn't been a good recovery, I'm having serious problems with my nose. I'm spending my Change Term Holidays inside The Portuguese Air Force Hospital.

1st Term of 3rd year....DONE
Hello my comrades....As you see on top of this post...it´s DONE. It was a difficult term but with work and pride we did all the subjects. And the English was very hard...This term was different...different life, different...I'd better stay with my mouth shut:).
The term ran well, but at the end of it I had problems....so I have to get a big solution for them ASAP. Next week, on Tuesday I will be in hospital to do a surgery on my nose.
I would like to wish good holidays to all my comrades.

Hello, boys
Did you have good holidays? I hope you have recharged batteries, as Silva said, and that you are ready to start your schoolyear. But before we start, let's have a look at our photo in the bar. Aren't we beautiful? Costa is missing, but you know why, don't you, Ricardo?

See you all next Tuesday. Bye!

Hi, my comrades!!! I´m not the best, I'm not the worst, I'm (not) the Special One, but I´m cadet of Portuguese Air Force Academy and I´m student of the first group of English. I finished the second year, and I won´t have exams, so this year run very well and I will go to Algarve to celebrate my holidays. We need to rest to recharge our batteries for next year, because it will be very hard.

Last week landed in Sintra, the Aerobatic team "Esquadrilha da Fumaça", and we went to see the "Tucanos".

In our last lesson, we went to students' bar celebreting our last lesson, I wouldn´t believe, but we went there.

Finally I would like to wish the best for all Míticos and people for this Holidays.

1st term........DONE

Hi...I have finished our first term of second year without exams, it´s true... Are you thinking if we have holidays?? of course.......NOOOOO. Last week I had a Physiology Training Course in Lumiar Base, so I will have only 3 days to rest. The course ran very well but I have been operated on my nose. In the course I had classes about physiology, Egress and many others about our body capacities. We had simulators of night vision, Ejection, Spatial Orientation and finally we had a flight into a hypobaric chamber. In this hypobaric chamber we flew up to 35000 feet and made some experiments such as trying to breathe without masks, speaking with mask, and many important exercises to get to know better our body capacities. But now I´m at home and i´m studying to do some work on Physical Training, English Grammar and studying some books about our aircraft "Chipmunk".Next Thursday we will start our second term, and we have to be prepared.

Hey, boys!
As you don't show up, how about laughing a little bit?

BEST BLONDE JOKE EVER :

A blonde calls her boyfriend and says, “Please come over here and help me. I have a killer jigsaw puzzle, and I cannot figure out how to get started.'”
Her boyfriend asks, “What is it supposed to be when it is finished ?”
The blonde says, “According to the picture on the box, it is a rooster.”
Her boyfriend decides to go over and help with the puzzle.
She lets him in and shows him where she has the puzzle spread all over the table.
He studies the pieces for a moment, then looks at the box, then turns to her and says,
“First of all, no matter what we do, we are not going to be able to assemble these pieces into anything resembling a rooster”
He takes her hand and says, “Second, I want you to relax. Let’s have a nice cup of tea, and then ...' he said with a deep sigh, “Let’s put all the Corn Flakes back in the box!”

2007 /2008

Hey, boys! Here we are again for a new year. Jorge has already started, but the others have been silent. Why? For sure you saw, read, or listened to something interesting during your holidays. Or you've read something on the news that has appealed to you. Come on, let's share it with the others. We'll be waiting. Have a nice weekend.

Solo Flight

I’d like to share my happy day with you, Can I?
I’m very happy, because I did a solo flight. It was on 20th of September 2007, I did a solo flight for 25 minutes with 3 landings on runway 14. My instructor was Major General Queirós Reis. I left at 10 hours zulu and landed at 10:25 zulu.
When I arrived at the Hangar, my instructor gave me a “cachaço” and a kick on my “ass”. I loved this day, but I still have a long way to do to be a pilot.
I couldn’t take an English Language Course because, in September I went to the Academy to fly, so I didn’t have time, but in August I went to Algarve and I spoke with many Dutch people and I liked it very much. This year I will have a lot of work to do.

So, now we got to the end of your 1st school year in the Academy. As nobody else, except Jorge and Noel, wanted to share their plans for holidays, I've decided to post the photo Jorge took in our last lesson.

But next year we'll go on with our blog, won't we, guys?
Have great holidays but SPEAK ENGLISH, please!

Hello, everybody!
Do you want to know what I am going to do in my holidays? I will tell you.
I had a good study season, but I left one exam to do. I’ve improved in many subjects, but mainly in English in spite of still having many difficulties in English. I think that I will be able to speak English very well, because I like English and I like to work to win the Wing of Pilot Aviator. My future depends on me.
My holidays start in second week of July. The first week of July, I have military exercises in CTA, Alcochete.
After the exercises, I will go to the Academy because I have an exam to do, otherwise I would go to London two weeks to take an English course. Before this I will practice some sports and study. After the exam, I will go to Algarve two weeks with my friends. Algarve is wonderful because I enjoy swimming and I need to speak English, so Algarve has many foreign people to speak to.
In August I have my birthday to celebrate with my family and my friends. In the last fortnight of August and September I will spend my last days of holidays with my parents and my brother, my sister and my niece.
In October I will go back to the Portuguese Air Force Academy to continue my studies and fly if I have good classification in my tests.
I like the Academy very much, but the holidays are important for us because we need some time to recharge our energy and to tidy our mind.
Wish you good holidays, too.

Hi again! In my holidays I want to change the AFA's routine. If I don't have exams, I will take a trip to London to improve my English and have fun with people from a variety of nationalities. After that, I will go to the beach with my friends and prepare myself for the next year. Bye...

Dear Takahiro,

Hello! I'm waiting for you in my contry. Here there is a lot to learn and see.
Let me tell you something about Portugal.First, you have 2 different time zones depending on where you live. Portuguese food is healthy; you can try different dishes od codfish and if you don't like, you can try many kinds of meat,
In Portugal you will see people hugging frequently. In your classes you spend 6 hours a day, but you have to work hard at home to have good marks. But you have time to have fun and go sightseeing.
At school in Portugal, we have 2 days off each week. In this country , students have to go to school until they finish the 9th grade.
This is what I want to tell you now. I hope you and your family are well. Write Soon!

Greatings,
Joel Correia

And now a new one! Who can guess it?

Fear of Frying

The story of my life is sad,
But I'll tell you, if you like.
I was born dirt poor in the richest soil
in a town called Spudsville Pike.

One day I got snatched away from my home
and then thrown in the back of a truck.
My eyes could see life on the road was not easy,
so I smiled and wished myself luck.

I knew that I'd be a success in the world,
no matter what trials lay ahead.
I was told that the world would butter me up
But boy, what a line I'd been fed!

I knew life had taken a turn for the worst
when I first saw those golden arches.
Now my hope for the future is fried just because I am
one of your favorite starches!

WHAT AM I?
